Nathan started performing early in life, acting out the different trains as his parents read from The Little Engine That Could. He graduated Denver School of the Arts as a Drama Major, and then Tisch School of the Arts at NYU with a BFA in Drama.
Roles during these years ranged from musical theater such as Dr. Dolittle and Willy Wonka to Danforth in The Crucible and Duperret in Marat/Sade. Through NYU, at the Stella Adler School of Acting, he played Van Gogh in Inventing Van Gogh and Jed Jenkins in The 5th of July among others.
Nathan served as the Associate Artistic Director for Visionbox Studio in Denver from 2010-2013, helping it gain 501(c)3 status, develop and begin to hold class sessions and generate original productions. He also taught Voice & Speech workshops.
With Visionbox, Nathan performed as Tuzenbach and Solyony in My Two Sisters, an original, two person adaptation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters, and as Michael Cassio from Othello and Jack Williams, a real-life murderer, in The Othello Project, an inquiry into domestic violence through the lens of Shakespeare’s play.
